Grint bought a 1974 Mr. Whippy Bedford van after his success in the Harry Potter films to fulfill a childhood dream. He reportedly drives it around local villages and gives out free ice cream and lollipops to children.

On the last day of filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, he served ice cream from the van to the cast and crew.
