What's now your top priority to fix with #Fedilab?
Think to use the GPS icon at the top right to see all replies and interact with suggestions.
Thank you.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

for some reason it wont let me download images? yet videos are fine 🤔
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Ohh, is that what that globe icon is? Why do some posts have a lock icon instead? I've never figured that one out. 😳
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I would like the screen reader to detect the description of images
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Please fix the image viewer.
Right now, when zoomed, paning the image will often reset to the default zoom level, which is a pain.
I often have to download images to see them in my phone's gallery app because Fedilab's image viewer keeps bugging out.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I just upgraded, and it appears you fixed it in 3.14.4. Thanks!
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Fix the crashed timeline since few versions...
Now all hidden timelines are also displayed twice and are constantly jumbled up or not displayed at all. Just a huge mess.
Some CW images are still not displayed. Everything worked great before, but the app is getting too cluttered and complex.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

top priority for fedilab? just stay as awesome as you are! 🥰🙏
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Fedilab is great! Would love to see some of the #TalkBack issues fixed and make Fedilab a leader in Fediverse #accessibility on Android!

I am still missing custom tabs for opening external links
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I still vote for fixing the jumping timeline. When an image (and maybe link preview?) loads off the top of the screen, the current position shouldn't change at all. Only a touch should move the timeline.
in reply to Tom

@tjk
We have to check if your instance gives info about media size. That's what fedilab uses to create the space in timelines.
@Tom
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Even if it didn't, would it be possible to anchor images at the bottom rather than the top, so that when they load, they shift the timeline upward and don't change the reading position? (More carefully: anchor them on the side of the reading position, so that reversed timelines, or people who read the timeline top-down, aren't affected either.)
in reply to Tom

I've tried a lot of apps, and Fedilab is the only one with this jumping issue, so I assume the others do something like anchoring, or they fetch media information in a different way. (Fedilab is better in several other ways, so I don't want to switch back!)
in reply to Tom

@tjk
Do you use fit preview media option? Other apps don't do that but that needs the instance gives info about media width and height so the app calculates the needed space.
@Tom
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I do use it, because Fedilab crops the image more than other apps if it's turned off. Here's a comparison with Tusky, for example.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Yes, but even if I disable that, and disable fit preview, it still crops more of the image than Tusky, and puts them in a less convenient arrangement. Here's another comparison like that:
in reply to Tom

@tjk
We stopped to use that max 4 media presentation because some instances allow more than 4 media.
@Tom
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I understand. Maybe it could be a setting? I would much rather see everything in my timeline than have to scroll in an unexpected second dimension.
in reply to Tom

@tjk
Yes, we will add that view automatically when media number is equal or lower than 4.
@Tom
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Grouping toots and boosts in the timelines, at least home. Should be configurable, let's say
- the last x b toots
- the last y days
- or a mix
I would love it ♥️
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Recalling the correct last read position doesn't always work.

Sometimes I come back to the app after a few hours and I am back 1 or 2 messages which can be confusing.

Obviously this isn't an easy fix (or you would have done it already), but I would really appreciate not constantly second guessing the accuracy of the timeline position.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

I'd love to have a accurate and always up to date new message counter. I really miss having some way to know how many unread messages remain.

I'm sorry, but this "40" is completely useless because it is always wrong.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Image sharing .. i'm now able to save image using share icon, but can't send it directly to e-mail, messengers or whatever i want to 😀

However, your release and bug fixing cadency is nuts! 😁

@I_Choose_Exile
OK but you should have a dedicated entry in main menu to see them.

@I_Choose_Exile
You mean changing the sound of follow request notifications?

Fedilab Apps
@I_Choose_Exile
OK. We will fix that.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

1. Interface is messy:
-The icons are too prominent, I would like to see them more subtle, but the resize icon option is broken compared to a few versions ago.
-The unnecessary use of a too large font: when editing profile fields, filter notifications, opening a message.
- Profile look is not balanced: websites would look better when all is left aligned, and info should not be in a box or underlined when already in different color, see image. Note icon too prominent.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

2. The problem remains of not showing (no color) already given boosts, bookmarks and stars when returning later.
Applies to all timelines and profiles.

I am very happy with timeline position not moving anymore since last update. 😁😁
in reply to Fedilab Apps

3. I miss hours of messages without a notice or load more messages.
I follow an hourly time bot, and all its messages, and those from other users, between 7 am and 2 am today are missing in home timeline.
(Checked: The time bot did post hourly messages in the missing hours.)
in reply to Lisa

@Lon
We fixed automatic cache for the home timeline. It should improve that.
@Lisa
in reply to Fedilab Apps

That would be great, thank you for your fast reply! 😊
in reply to Fedilab Apps

The pinch-zoom in the image viewer is better, but still pretty wonky; I can't recall using any other app that is so finicky about such a basic function.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

Probably better to get you a video of what I'm experiencing; let me dig up something (other than my phone) that can record a video

@cornmek1
What's your android version?
in reply to Fedilab Apps

one anoying bug in #fedilab is that I do not see images when there are more than one and they are behind CW. That would be my top priority to fix. I would also like option to see whole URL inline as I can't copy curl examples in one go. Looking at older posts there is date in wrong format, I'd like to set that to my liking. But those two are minor things. Otherwise I love this app 😄 Thanks for great work.
in reply to Kiss On The Skin

@kissontheskin
For media, it's a wanted behaviour. But we can add an option for that.
For URLs, just long press them, you will have a menu with some interesting options 😀
in reply to Fedilab Apps

yes, I know. But if I have for example curl command line, I can't just copy it as it have broken (shortened) URL. I have to copy it from long press menu as second step. I'd like to generally just see whole URLs inline, not in popup, but that situation when it's part of command is most annoying.
in reply to Fedilab Apps

@Fedilab Apps Maybe it's time to consider creating tutorials within the app?

Your app is like pocket swiss army knife with 3000 functions, but without manual included (and if i noticed correctly, lot of questions repeat themselves time after time)
in reply to Schmaker

We have an old wiki at https://fedilab.app/wiki/home/
But we are rewriting our website. Currently visible at https://wip.fedilab.app
Tato položka byla upravena (1 year ago)
in reply to Fedilab Apps

@Fedilab Apps
I don't think anybody will ever read it.

Best practice is tutorial within the app as you use it imho.

But after all it was just an idea 😀
