New Friendica release

Hi guys,

I'm amazed how much work was done since last release and since there are quite lot of QoL improvements I would like to see an actual #Friendica release so we can upgrade our instances.

I don't expect any ETAs and such, but I think it's quite a while since last release and would like to point out that not everyone has enough balls to run on develop version

For smaller instances like mine, I've essentially had next to no issues with develop branch; a vast majority of the time the issues were due to some error in config I made. The devs seem to treat their dev branch pretty conservatively compared to a lot of other projects.

Just in case you're interested, when an RC branch exists for Friendica it's generally further ahead of the `develop` branch. The `2025.07-rc` branch is about 120 commits ahead currently. And I think stability is even more important on RC than develop since more users are running it, and it should ideally be readier for release at any point. That said, some fairly extensive changes have happened in RC this time around because it's been the main place for development for many months now as the release has dragged out this time. But development itself has continued all this time, so at least it will be a far more extensive release with more improvements than usual, I think.

I'm hoping that maybe we'll get a December release like the last one, and get a fresh start for the new year, but I'm not really in the loop.

At least development has continued all this time, so at least it will be a far more extensive release with more improvements than usual, I think.

I'd rather wait as I lack both skill and experience of potential DB fixes or smilar issues. It's not worth especially when there is at least slight possibility of release 😀
