A1a. In Dublin, CA, where the streets are wide and slightly scary, the Yemeni Cafe is great, and the weather is breezy but comfortable.

A1b. Never have, but I’ve seen the videos (and of rollerbladers and skateboarders) and am more terrified than tempted. But no judgement against those who have tried.

Q1b: I have never held onto a moving vehicle while riding, which is weird given the other dumb stuff I’ve done.

For example, I drafted a garbage truck down a huge hill and back up the other side of the hill at like 40 mph on a Mtb.

I’ve had single road bikes into the 50 mph range a bunch of times, and I’ve kissed 65 mph on a tandem a few times.

A1: a train! The Sydney-Newcastle train to be specific, three hours on a "suburban" route covering over 150km.

1b: probably, but only briefly and not a fan of the practice. But I've seen it done, most notably on a tour when several cyclists got pulls 10km or so by the "support vehicle" (a van).

I've also pushed someone using a ~2m stick for a couple of hours into a headwind. Not a fun day touring, but we made it.

A1b. I have never done that (I might have banged on a few cars I wished weren't in my way now and then, but I've never hung on to one). When I was a kid we called that hookey-bobbing but I don't think I've seen anyone do it in real life, only movies

A2 Maybe? I have a vague memory of holding on to the tailgate of Grandpa's Ford but I suspect that may just be from a movie or something. It would have been on his property if it happened.

A1. Tooting from Atlanta as always! Never held onto a vehicle while riding, but I've wished to more than a few times dragging kids up ridiculous hills. But that'd be too dangerous for them, and I didn't know the drivers to feel comfortable begging for an assist.

A1b: probably tried something that stupid as a kid, but I’ve written over that portion of my hard drive, so cannot say for sure. Certainly not in the past 45 years.

I did bike to the Twins game on Wednesday. We beat the Yankees in 13 innings. Extra innings meant I arrived home just as it was getting dark & rainy. 53-mile round trip. Good bike corral at Target Field!
