Wow! I just responded to a Lemmy (Fediverse Reddit analog) post from my Mastodon (Fediverse oldTwitter analog) account within my Mastodon GUI.

I didn't even realize it was a Lemmy post...

I clicked on the original Lemmy link and saw my Mastodon post as a reply within the Lemmy thread.

See attached for screenshots of the same conversation in both application's UI's.

The fediverse is fucking awesome.

(Not a native english speaker so I didn't put everything here.)
First cool thing is you don't need to create an account on another social media to talk with people.
Thus, these media have less chance to gather everyone in one place and be the only one used and ruled by one person.

@stooovie - It means that I dont need to create a new account on every piece of software. I can follow them all from one place. I only need to create accounts where I want to post the content or experience the UI.

Perfect example for me. I have a local group account on Mobilizon. I dont have to create a local group account on Mastodon, or Pixelfed, or, any number of other applications. I can just post the group event to Mobilizon and it gets reposted throughout the fediverse natively.
