I get so tired of this kind of fucking bullshit.
It's very simple.
You were younger 20 years ago.
The world felt full of wonder, you were in peak health, you were innocent and not aware of many fuckeries.
You have nostalgia for that and everything associated with that.
That is why you imagine things were better then.
I, who was a miserable fuck back then as well as now, have some immunity to this and I can fucking assure you ASSURE YOU old tech was NOT better, my god...
Have some self awareness and humility, accept that maybe YOUR view of things is heavily affected by your own personal experiences.
People say the same about towns, cars, TV, films, yada fucking yada. Shut up.
For all the fuckeries in the world tech is amazing _right now_ insanely better than it was even 10 years ago.
And believe me there were fuckeries in the past too. I literally used windows ME when it came out. Microsoft Frontpage. Old school websites were so bad you can't begin to imagine... my space back in the day, my god, list goes on.
Modern cars are a wonder compared to old cars, I mean yeah. List goes on.
Shut up + stop blaming your tools...

In the US for instance JFK and (vomit) 'Camelot' was lauded as this magical time, except if you really look into the shit JFK did it was fucked, he wasn't a very nice man (sorry) and wasn't an especially brilliant president.
But as you hear people WHO WERE YOUNG AT THE TIME it was a magical wonderland...
Or the idiots who are of my ilk talking as if the 90's were some magical brilliant time. LOL.
It was nice to not have such reactionary bullshit to everything all the time (due to lack of social media basically) but the rest was so much worse.
We live in amazing times despite all the fuckeries and people are always so blind to it...

Well, yes but actually - no 😀
To fix old car all you needed was 13 mm key, duct tape and hammer. To fix modern car you need 1000$ diag tool, online subscription to manufacturer and if it's e-car and you screw up, you're dead and your house will burn to dust.
If the modern car actually works instead of self-updating or spying on you while you and your lover are "making love" inside, then it definitely can be better tech 😀
Remember that this comment was written using sarcastic letters on my keyboard, but still - better is always relative...
