Hey Linux people: is there a good GUI app for making bootable Linux USB drives so I don't have to use the dd command? Ideally something available on most distributions. #linux #foss

I only ever had trouble with anything other than good old dd, but if you're scared of deleting your disk, dd_rescue is a bit less scary

I remember #unetbootin was quite popular back in the days.

At this moment though I'd prefer #Ventoy - you can put as many images as you want on the flash drive and boot whichever you want to

Disks app?
(Standard app within GNOME Shell desktop environment. An ISO can be opened with "Write image to disk" option... Cannot get easier that that... 🙂 )

Moreover, there is also a preinstalled app called "Create bootable disk" app in Ubuntu...

(As a side note: It is totally beyond me why people keep creating new and new apps with new funny names for this purpose, when there are standard solutions available for more than a decade? 🤔 )
