Amidst the horror of the killing of Renee Good, I take solace in seeing how technology has outperformed propaganda:

I have seen more lies about the killing than I can count, but it is 2026, and I have also seen around 6 different video recordings of the incident from all possible angles WITH clear audio.

Gone are the days, when propagandists could freely shape the narrative. JD Vance and Trump can still lie, but we can see the incident they are lying about, from 6 different angles WITH audio.

indeed. Was about to make that point. AI will be used to create fake enough narratives which then will flow through SoMe and into the......"lax" parts of more mainstream media that had jumped on the Trump train. People who want to be lied to, will believe any lie told and to few institutions hold accountability. Jan 6, and 2020 are prime examples of how a narrative can still be spun.

Of course this just mean "we" have to be more vigilant and vocal

I am not as optimistic as you are. The constant lies and reinterpretations of 6 January have led to completely divergent opinions about what really happened. Even though there are thousands of images and videos that show what happened. People no longer need to see something to believe it. You have to make them believe something so that they see it. I highly recommend to listen to this podcast podcasts.apple.com/ch/podcast/… (german)

Brooks and Capehart discussed this yesterday:

"And I watched it play out in real time this week, because every single Trump person on my feed, my social media feeds was saying, this proves he shot her with just cause.

And every single anti-Trump person on my feed said it was murder. I did not see one exception. And so I think what this tells us is the norm, which is essential to democracy, of putting the truth above your party and your team, that norm is eviscerated, at least on social media, hopefully not in real life."

The polarization will reach its crescendo.
